Our Focus

We are focused on finding simple, low-cost local resources to solve a wide variety of medical problems faced by the local community in Busu and the villages.

We fully understand our volunteers' desire to 'make their mark' during their stay at with Suubi Clinic however, it is important to remember that, once they have left the programme, any project with which they have been involved must be sustainable (and also easily ) so that the members of the local community can continue to run it themselves.

All too often we see organisations that bring money and Western expertise to a projects like ours, only for the project to fail once the expert has left because the local people have neither been given the nor the money to keep it going.

As a volunteer, you will be part of the team at suubi Clinic, and it's important for you all to nurture the team spirit. You may well make some life-long friendships during your stay, many people who have been before their time so much that they have to return. This is the kind of effect working in a community will have on you. Your life will never be the same.
