Suubi Child sponsorship
Denis one of the founders of Suubi is a product of child sponsorship. He was lucky to have got support from a missionary lady who he calls his mum. She started supporting him from the age of 10, paid all his schools fees, medical care and gave him a chance to study. He later became a teacher, later trained as a youth worker in the England and now operates a successful travel business and is founder of Suubi clinic. Other Children in the village who weren't so lucky to have this kind of support never got very far.
Suubi has started a child sponsorship program and now has 5 children on the list but we would like to expand that. Child sponsorship is a m major way to connect Ugandan children with people that care like you. Child sponsorship means the money you give to a child helps to send them to school, helps feed them, buy books and school uniform needed for schooling, and also covers basic medical care.
Most of the children we sponsor are those whose parents are not there for them. Most of them have been orphaned due to HIV/AIDS, although for social reasons and to avoid stigmatisation Suubi helps any child who has lost his or her parents without establishing the cause of death etc
Unlike many big charities the amount you pay to sponsor a child will go directly towards your child's support. Administration is covered by extra donations. If you can and wish to help with administration costs you give a little more and indicate that you do not mind part of it being used to cover admin charges by our project worker in Uganda.
